NEW YORK, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV VMA Award-winning, Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum Island Records group the Killers are hard at work collecting B-sides, rarities and one-off sides for a compilation album to be released later this year, entitled SAWDUST, out November 13th with lead track SHADOWPLAY at radio now! The band hunkered down at a recording studio in New York's Hell's Kitchen, completing the album with Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Lou Reed.

In England alone, the Killers' Brandon Flowers told Billboard.com last week, "We have a lot of B-sides that people in America would never know about because we don't have singles here. So we have about 15 of these songs that people have never heard, and we wanted to stick them on something for people to get to have them all together."

The website went on to mention a handful of titles: "All the Pretty Faces" (which was the B-side of "When You Were Young"); two movie soundtrack tunes, "Shadowplay" (a Joy Division cover, from Control, Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian Curtis) and "Move Away" (from Spiderman 3); as well as a cover of Kenny Rogers & the First Edition's "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town" (written by Mel Tillis). The collection will also contain songs which weren't complete for Sam's Town. The Killers recently went back into the studio to finish the tracks. They will also record a second Christmas single for the RED Campaign, "Don't Shoot Me Santa," expected for December 1st release. It follows up last year's "A Great Big Sled," which raised over $100,000 for the RED Campaign.

Meanwhile, the Killers -- Brandon Flowers on vocals and keyboards, guitarist David Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci -- continue to tour relentlessly in support of their RIAA platinum second album SAM'S TOWN, which made a colossal debut at #2 last October 2006, and spent 42 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spun off two hit singles: "When You Were Young," which rose to #1 on the Modern Rock chart, #14 on the Hot 100, Top 5 on the Dance side, and was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Short Form Music Video at this year's 49th annual Grammy Awards; and "Read My Mind," which hit #1 at BDS Triple-A, Top 10 at Modern Rock and Alternative, and #1 Dance.
